So did any of you folks in the US hear anything about the strike? I think it's great that there is a still a strong union that isn't afraid to stand up. Were the effects of the strike felt even if it didn't get media coverage?

Having lived in Europe for 20 years now, I've gotten used to May first being a holiday.
I also heard that dockworkers in South Africa refused to unload Chinese ships with weapons that were headed for one of the many unstable African countries, don't remember which.

Full stoppages, despite Pacific Maritime Assoc. threats to press contract violations......mainstream press finally........finally identifying May Day as a legit working class holiday....never thought I'd live to see this much progress towards US legitimacy....goditwasgreat! -
