Gay is the new Black

Same sex marriage is the civil rights issue of our time, just like the last one had been racial discrimination (perhaps it still is).

Those oppose to same sex marriage seem not to think in terms of civil rights, perhaps due to cognitive dissonance or something.

I'm curious as to why it is not seen this way by them.

Any guesses?

Because Mormons are dumping millions of dollars into advertising to convince them otherwise?

Because when the world changes too fast for people to cope with, many try to go backwards to find some comfort in "the good ol' days". The old days were never good, we just like to think they were.

Ever since Reagan was president there's been a push to control behavior by legislating morality. It is an effort that is doomed to failure. But in the meantime we have to endure all the noise from the religious right.
