Interesting article that explains the mystery (to me) of why Edwards hasn't endorsed Obama & discusses who & what might influence HRC's decision whether to drop out of the race or fight to the death...

Re: Hillary's future
Mon, March 31, 2008 - 6:09 AMThanks for the share; also good expose' of how anemic the Demo Party seems to appear. Edwards was, at his best, Labor Lite. Another "great communicator" is their only alternative to Hillary Corporalinton..... -

hmm.... that's an interesting way of putting it. i still don't get why people loved ronald reagan so much (maybe it's cuz i got bit in the ass by reaganomics and "they" didn't) but i think the "image" is once again very important for president and we DESPERATELY need a different one than we have now. better policies, same great oratory... -

Re: Hillary's future
Wed, April 2, 2008 - 2:18 AMHere's a very eloquent essay by Alice Walker talking about the Democratic presidential race with her personal historic perspective...

The author argues that we must build alliances not on ethnicity or gender, but on truth.

Re: Hillary's future
Mon, March 31, 2008 - 6:25 AMfunny, i was thinking kinda the same thing as the "conclusion" earlier in the other thread. "take one for the team" is usually in tandem with "shine another day."
maybe i'm thick, but i'm not seeing why mccain is so "winnable." i can see how the bickering is weakening the democrats, but other than that... mccain is "more of the same with a bit more war-mongering." "not as thick, but just as wrong." -

Re: Hillary's future
Wed, April 2, 2008 - 9:47 AMAll this talk about McCain beating both Obama and Clinton in polls and how a tight race is ruing the party is a crock of shit. Same with the Clinton supporters who threaten to go to McCain if Obama wins.
it's simply a short attention span..the quiet period between primaries that lasts a month and people are hot right now...trust me, they will have different attitudes in 8 months, let alone 1 week. The press likes the tight race..it likes the bickering and politicking because it gets them viewers..they really are putting out some absurd crap to fuel the fire.
The dem nomination will be decided when it's decided...fear of Republicans pulling ahead is premature at this stage..christ, it's only April.

Re: Hillary's future
Wed, April 2, 2008 - 1:28 PMI read something on Daily Kos that suggested Hillary is staying in race partly because she's in so much debt. If she bails now, her fundraising dries up. If she stays in, she can still solicit money to pay off her debt. -

Thu, April 3, 2008 - 6:03 AM..oh noooo!......I've known drag racers who 'stayed in it' too long in order to dig out of a hole for sponsors. Does not bode well..... -

If Hillary's new campaign theme song could well be "Living on a Prayer" then perhaps this other anthem would do equally fittingly as a new campaign theme song for Obama....

(Thanks, Diane of the Alaskan Progressives tribe, for this most apt song suggestion). -

Re: Hillary's future
Sat, April 5, 2008 - 4:57 PMwell at least the song isn't as lame... living colour always had a lot more "meat on the bone" than bon jovi (but then again i don't jon & the boys had an axe to grind either.)
